Stereogram play

Note: this activity requires two working eyes. It may also help to have someone nearby with the instructions on another screen so they can read them to you while your eyes are busy with the task. Instructions:
  1. Adjust the slider or the blue point, or click the play button in the bottom left corner. What do they do?
  2. Press Play to turn on animation.
  3. Put your fingertip near the screen between the top two purple squares.
  4. Focus on your fingertip as you slowly pull your finger back toward the tip of your nose.
  5. Notice two new purple squares moving toward the center behind your finger. Eventually these two squares will merge into a single square.
  6. When that happens, shift your focus to the new square and put your finger down.
With your eyes slightly crossed like this, you should see one image in the center (a row of squares) and a shimmering or unstable copy of it on each side. Do you see alternating pyramids and pits that gradually switch roles?
